A couple of night in London

We arrived at St Pancras and first caught the underground and then the Dockland Light Railway to Greenwich where we booked into the Ibis hotel for two nights, then off exploring. Walked to the banks of the Thames banks by the Cutty Sark and explored the pedestrian tunnel under the river . Access to the tunnel is via a lift or stairs. It says no cycles but they hurtle down the sloping floor to the deepest point under the river.

This was the entrance to the tunnel in the evening and the view back to Greenwich from the far side of the river .

We were surprised the number of places to eat in the area, really spoilt for choice, but just down the road from where we were staying was a vegan Indian Restaurant and the flavours were great.Hullabaloo | The Greenwich North Indian Vibe.

The reason we came to Greenwich was to visit the Observatory which is built on the top of the hill, we went first thing which was good because by the time we came down the hill it was sweltering hot. The views from the top are something else.

After spending a bit of time looking at all the things on the top of the hill, including a chance to observe the sun through a special telescope we made our way back down to visit the café for a cold drink and lunch. The afternoon was spend wandering around the maritime museum and the Queens house.

Of course we spent a bit of time watching the river and the antics of the trip catamarans going to and from the pier, O and we had a quick half at The Ship before wandering back to the hotel, we were so bushed we just ate at the hotel that night.

The next day we didn’t need to check out until mid day so the morning was spent wandering along the river looking at where the old ferry ran from, those Victorians knew a thing or two and visiting Deptford Creek before returning to the hotel, picking up our bags and checking out.

It was then back to the Docklands Light Railway, Underground and short walk to Victoria Coach Station. Our coach was packed and due to an accident on the A13 we were stuck in London for an extra hour, but luckily arrived at Norwich 10 minutes before the bus for Beccles was due to leave,
